MeiUnarvu: The inner medicine that heals

Excerpt from Gurumahan’s 16th Velvi discourse

My dear ones, your responsibility begins within. Before offering love to others, learn to be loving toward yourself. Care for your body with kindness and gratitude.

True healing is not merely about taking medicine. In the deeper spiritual understanding of Vaithiyam (வைத்தியம்)—derived from Vaithu (to place) and Iyambuthal (to direct or command)—healing is founded upon three essential principles:

  • Place (Idam) – The Ajna Chakra, the point between the eyebrows, the center of inner command and higher intelligence.
  • Object (Porul)MeiUnarvu, Kundalini life energy force.
  • Aim (Eval) – Healing, restoration, and the harmonious functioning of body and mind.

The Place is the Ajna—the eyebrow center, where awareness is gathered and directed. The Object is MeiUnarvu, the primordial life-energy force that heals. The Aim is the restoration of balance and well-being.

Whenever pain or discomfort arises, do not react with frustration or resistance. Instead, gently place your hand upon the affected area and focus your MeiUnarvu at the eyebrow center. From this calm and centered state, offer a gentle inner command. Ask the body to relax, remain at ease, and allow the natural flow of life energy to function without obstruction.

As intention arises from the Ajna and is sustained by awareness, the body begins to respond. Relief may emerge naturally as the body’s own healing intelligence awakens and reorganizes itself.

This is neither a mantra nor a mystery. It is the natural power of awareness working through intention. However, words alone are not enough. Just as a pen cannot write without ink, intention cannot be effective without awareness. MeiUnarvu is that living awareness. When positive thought is held steadily in MeiUnarvu, it gradually takes shape in reality.

MeiUnarvu is the awakening of Kundalini consciousness. At Universal Peace Foundation (UPF) Thirumoorthy Hills, MeiUnarvu is offered progressively through three stages of initiation, enabling the seeker to deepen awareness, intuition and through expanded consciousness he not only attains health, wealth, prosperity but he moves towards Self-realisation.

When awareness and intention unite, healing becomes more than a remedy, it becomes a spiritual practice. And as MeiUnarvu deepens, one begins to discover a profound question: Is the body being healed by awareness, or is awareness using the body to awaken itself?
